Gardener's Dress in Navy Linen
Inspired by an antique late-1800’s French gardener’s smock I discovered at a flea market. I was struck by how the piece was so utilitarian, yet also somehow delicate. I wore it constantly.
The gardener’s pieces come in beautiful linens that echo the original homespun cloth of my antique gardener’s top, , and this season a limited edition of liberty prints. I have added pockets .... because pockets are everything!
wide drawstring neck
three quarter length sleeve
hemline at mid calf
Also available in many other fabrics.
Sizing, in my opinion is a subjective thing. The goal for anything you wear is to have effortless fit, form, and function, and of course you want to feel great. It’s for these reasons I am pretty committed to not locking myself in to a particular size. For example, I am on the petite side, however, I love an oversized fit so I often size up in certain pieces. This is why I’ve chosen to label the sizing in Jess Brown pieces with numbers rather then the traditional letters showing extra small through extra large. My hope is you choose pieces in my collection that feel great on and let go of what size you think you are. The way I have designed the collection is as a capsule of pieces that work in many sizes. You may love a size 1 in a top but then gravitate towards a 3 in a dress...
