Underpinning in Black Crinkled Cotton
Inspired by a french slip I discovered at a local antique fair. I fell in love with its beautiful and delicate handwork detailing, as well as the washed silk fabric.
The underpinning replicates the hand-created chevron detailing of my original french slip. It works beautifully as a camisole, or under any of my pieces. I make it in crepe de chine silk and paper thin cotton.

Sizing, in my opinion is a subjective thing. The goal for anything you wear is to have effortless fit, form, and function, and of course you want to feel great. It’s for these reasons I am pretty committed to not locking myself in to a particular size. For example, I am on the petite side, however, I love an oversized fit so I often size up in certain pieces. This is why I’ve chosen to label the sizing in Jess Brown pieces with numbers rather then the traditional letters showing extra small through extra large. My hope is you choose pieces in my collection that feel great on and let go of what size you think you are. The way I have designed the collection is as a capsule of pieces that work in many sizes. You may love a size 1 in a top but then gravitate towards a 3 in a dress...
