Workshirt in Faded Olive Crinkled Cotton
This piece is one of my earliest designs, based on one of my father’s old oxford shirts. When I was around 20, I took one of his shirts, I trimmed the bottom and changed the sleeves, reworked the collar so that I could wear it - and then I found myself living in it. Years later, when I started jess brown pieces, it was one of the first patterns I had created for the line.
My workshirt has a traditional men’s shirt look with a slightly oversized feel and a slightly shortened sleeve length; it comes in the softest, most wearable fabrics that get better with age.
Details:
relaxed shoulder
sleeve hits just above wrist
shirttail hemline at hip
Also available in block print check, mushroom linen, ginger linen, white crinkled cotton, black crinkled cotton, liberty navy floral, and paper thin olive.
Sizing, in my opinion is a subjective thing. The goal for anything you wear is to have effortless fit, form, and function, and of course you want to feel great. It’s for these reasons I am pretty committed to not locking myself in to a particular size. For example, I am on the petite side, however, I love an oversized fit so I often size up in certain pieces. This is why I’ve chosen to label the sizing in Jess Brown pieces with numbers rather then the traditional letters showing extra small through extra large. My hope is you choose pieces in my collection that feel great on and let go of what size you think you are. The way I have designed the collection is as a capsule of pieces that work in many sizes. You may love a size 1 in a top but then gravitate towards a 3 in a dress...
