Sashiko Workshop with Sophia

Cost:$100 per person tea and snacks provided. 8/23 9:30-12

Included: We will provide a needle, thread, denim, patterns, scissors, and thimbles.will get to take home needle, thread, and thimble.

Class: This class will give a small lesson on the history of Sashiko and its Japanese origins. It will be a step by step process of picking out a pattern, threading needles, knotting thread and how to stitch denim following the pattern on the fabric. You will leave the class with a (hopefully finished) 2x5 inch pattern patch which will be a cut piece of denim that has been finished around the edges!

A note from Sophia:
I am Sophia Louise, have been sewing for 7 years and teaching for the last 2. I have been exploring hand stitching and mending, resonating with giving new life to clothing that has seen better days. I have found this little obsession has so many applications, and maybe isn't so little.
